Food blogger and photographer
Hello welcome to any1cancook,
My name is Hannah and I have a great passion for cooking and also photography, so I thought that setting up a blog would be a good idea to share some of my favourite recipes with you as well as taking photos of them. I enjoy athletics and sports, my favourite sport is horse riding. My love of nature and animals inspires me to cook delicious food that I can share with my family and friends. I am also a big fan of water sports and I feel that the nicest feeling is when you have just been swimming or sailing or kayaking and can make something really delicious with recipes that are quick and easy using limited ingredients.
Cooking and baking are some of my favourite things to do, it puts me in such a good mood. I love to experiment; sometimes it goes right and sometimes not, but you can always try again. I love the diversity and individuality of cooking where you could eat the same dish over and over again but tweak it each time to get a different experience.
I feel that cooking is essential to learn from a young age because it can affect the rest of your life and shape the life choices that you make. To help expand my knowledge of food I am taking food and nutrition as one of my GCSE options and I am enjoying it very much. Not only am I enjoying the practical side of it I am enjoying the theory, it is very interesting what food does in our body and how its grown. It is also good to see how much nutrients is in certain foods and how I can improve my diet. Although many people find cooking stressful and may not have any time I grew up with my parents and grandparents cooking so naturally leaned how to cook as I wanted to get involved and help my mum make dinner. I am very fortunate and my whole family loves cooking and my great grandma, grandma and mum have taught me tips and tricks throughout my life and I am blessed with home cooked meals everyday. But just because you haven’t learnt to cook when you were young doesn’t mean you cant lean today and that’s why I felt making a blog wont just make me happy it may help others to learn to grow to love cooking as much as I do.
I remember when I was about 4 or 5 when we were making chocolate cake and I got so messy that my mum had to wash my clothes immediately after we had finished. But I decided that I wanted to lick the spoon and so I got chocolate all round my face and I kept saying ” docdit” because I couldn’t say the word chocolate. It a very strong memory and every time I am making chocolate cake my parents always remind me. I guess this is where my messy baking practices came from up as I am still very messy when baking or cooking. In fact for one of my Christmas presents I got an apron that says ” I am a messy baker.” The funny thing is that the apron itself is very messy.
I feel that for me cooking is a way to clam yourself and I found it very therapeutic. It is a very good thing to do after a stressful day at school or I’m just feeling down, then cooking can really brighten up you day. My friend Ellie and I thoroughly enjoy cooking and every time I go round her’s or she comes round to mine we always bake; sometimes end up making mistakes, but most of the time we create some beautiful cakes and biscuits that we often take to school the next day.
