Directions
I got this recipe from The original bestseller 100 great breads by Paul Hollywood
These bread sticks are a great introduction to the world of bread making, they are so tasty and versatile, I try to vary the flavours by adding, sesame seeds, poppy seeds or parmesan cheese! They go well with a lunch of salads or soups and are great with dips for a party snack.

Put the flour, salt, yeast and olive oil into a bowl and mix together. Gradually add the water and mix until all the flour has been incorporated from the sides of the bowl. Tip the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5mins. Return the dough to and leave to rest for 30mins. |

Preheat the oven to 220c/425F/gas mark 7. Line two baking trays. Rip the dough into 15-20g pieces and, without using any flour, roll each out under the palm of your hands into thin strips about 25.5cm/ 10 inches in length. Moisten your hands a little and roll each strip in sesame or poppy seeds, then place on the baking tray. Bake for 20mins until golden brown. |
